Diandra Zipinotti dos Santos
Diandra is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Penn lab, where she focuses on a prostate cancer project centered in the metabolic mevalonate pathway and statin drugs as anti-cancer agents. She obtained her M.Sc in Biochemistry and Pharmacology under the guidance of Dr. Leticia Rangel at the Federal University of Espirito Santo State, Brazil. Her Ph.D. degree is in Biotechnology, during which she explored the impact of atorvastatin on reducing cisplatin chemoresistance in triple-negative breast cancer cells through the modulation of cholesterol metabolism. As part of this project, she conducted extensive research at the Lipid Metabolism Laboratory located in the Charles Perkins Centre, Australia, under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Hoy.
