Mohamed Kamal

Mohamed completed his undergraduate education at the University of Alexandria, Egypt, with a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He recently obtained his doctoral degree from the Department of Biochemistry at McGill University, studying the regulation of survival and death signals in mitosis under the guidance of Dr. Jose Teodoro.

Mohamed joined the Penn Lab in the winter 2018 as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. His main goal is to study the regulatory phosphorylation of c-MYC in the context of its kinase-phosphatase network. The ultimate goal of his studies is the identification of a novel point of intervention in the c-MYC regulatory network that is druggable.
