Ho Wai Lau

Ho Wai Lau joined the Penn Lab in 2026 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He obtained his BSc in Biotechnology, MPhil in Life Sciences, and PhD in Molecular Medicine from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. During his graduate training, he investigated mechanisms regulating cell cycle progression and cyclin-CDK-dependent transcriptional control.
His current research focuses on understanding how oncogenic signalling pathways regulate MYC activity and cancer cell fate. By combining molecular biology, functional genomics, and cancer cell biology approaches, he seeks to identify vulnerabilities that can be therapeutically targeted in MYC-driven cancers.
His research interests include MYC biology, cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, functional genomic screening, and cancer therapeutics.
